About Me
I live in rural Madison County, Georgia, and my work is now devoted entirely to fiction. Though my first published books were nonfiction, I have found my writing home in storytelling, especially in fiction that moves between science fiction, supernatural horror, suspense, historical fiction, and Southern Gothic terrain.
Drawing on a wide range of lived experiences and my own imagination, I write stories that explore the meeting point of the ordinary and the uncanny. I am drawn to the hidden pressures beneath everyday life, to the quiet moment when something familiar begins to feel strange, and to the ways hidden histories, uneasy landscapes, and human choices can collide.
Some of my stories unfold in imagined places, while many are set along the backroads, in the rural towns, and among the buried histories of the American South. Whether I am writing about alien encounters, haunted roads, ruined futures, forgotten towns, or private acts of courage, I return again and again to the belief that place, memory, and conscience matter just as much as plot.
I am most interested in stories where the surface of ordinary life begins to thin, and something deeper shows through. That might be fear, wonder, guilt, mystery, or the long shadow of the past, but whatever form it takes, I want the story to feel rooted in human experience even when it reaches into the strange.
