The Victor Lewis Files

Tales from the Void

13 Stories of Darkness - Horror, Science Fiction, and Fantasy

     <<<<<{}>>>>>

Fragments from various recovered Field Journals of Victor Lewis
compiled, transcribed, and translated from variant dimensional timelines

Note from transcriber: Victor’s words gathered from different worlds or different timelines were not declarations. They were impressions---patterns left in the dust stirred by his passage, by his many passages. What you hold is not his confession. They are his residue.

<<<<<{FRAGMENT 1}>>>>>

I’ve tried to trace the beginnings, but the circle has no clean entry point. Only recurrence. Only echo.
Sometimes I wake and remember names that don’t belong to me. Places I never stood. Hands I never held. But they know me just the same.
I’ve met myself more times than I can count. None of us agreed on what we did wrong. I've spoken to versions of me that never lived. I've killed others. I've tried to undo. None of it holds.

<<<<<{ FRAGMENT 2}>>>>>

I have learned this: the self is not fixed. It is porous. Memory molds, festers, reshapes. Time does not spiral upward---it digs. Downward. Like roots.
And beneath it all, there’s something waiting.
A voice. A hunger shaped like understanding. It doesn’t speak in words --- it speaks in recurrence. Bloody handprints on glass. Red flowers with teeth. Distorted reflections that did not copy me. The same phrase whispered across centuries like a prayer no one believes in anymore. I was trying to fix something --- but instead, I opened a door.

<<<<<{ FRAGMENT 3}>>>>>

The entries in this journal are not stories. They are proofs. Residues. Failed blueprints of a man trying to live and die in the right order.
Read them however you like. They’ll find you, eventually. The spores know your breath. The ants remember. The spiders look for their light.---And if I look close enough, I see other faces in the mirrors, watching, waiting.

<<<<<{ FRAGMENT 4}>>>>>

You’re holding files that were never meant to be opened. Read them if you dare. But know this, the moment you turn the first page, something begins to listen.     ~V.L
